This is a fast-moving world that we live in. Everyday stresses can make regular folks like us curl up in a fetal position. So you can imagine what it must be like to be a public figure and have your every move picked apart.
For Selena Gomez, depression and anxiety got the best of her last year. The 25-year-old canceled her Revival tour and decided to go to treatment for 90 days. She is proud of her choice. Gomez said that going to therapy was her saving grace and she wouldn't change a thing.
"It was the best thing that I could've done," she told InStyle editor Laura Brown. "I had no phone, nothing, and I was scared. But it was amazing, and I learned a lot."
Gomez now has a new lease on life and has all new priorities. But her time spent at the Tennessee center was no one-shot cure. Therapy is still her friend.
"And there are still days," she continued. "I go to therapy. I believe in that and talking about where you are. But I'm in a really, really healthy place."
Thinking about giving therapy a try? Well, here are five reasons why you should embrace the process. In the long run, you'll be better able to work through your issues and maybe even help others.
